Global Equine Health and Nutrition Association (GEHNA)
The Global Equine Health and Nutrition Association (GEHNA) is an organization and working group initiated by its founding members, Cavalor and Kentucky Equine Research (KER). GEHNA’s official launch took place during a special event preceding the 12th European Equine Health & Nutrition Congress on March 12, 2025.
The EEHNA facilitates the GEHNA initiative. Until GEHNA has its own website and legal status, information about the association will be presented below.
The mission of GEHNA
GEHNA aims to bridge the gap between global and regional equine health knowledge, initiatives, and perspectives. Our mission is to foster a collaborative environment that drives research, development, and alignment of practices across the equine industry worldwide.
Our Vision
Our vision is to establish a unified global standard for equine nutrition, optimizing the nutrition, health, care, and performance of horses worldwide.
GEHNA Launch meeting: Shaping the Future of Equine Health & Nutrition
Following valuable input from the GEHNA Launch Meeting (March 12,2025), we have taken further steps to shape GEHNA into a platform that reflects the shared needs and vision of the international equine community. Therefore, some updates were done in relation to the membership options to shape GEHNA further.

Academic institutions can join as Affiliative Members, free of charge, by contributing knowledge and maintaining up-to-date information about their expertise and infrastructure.
